Getting Cells and Tissues into Shape

Cells of all shapes and sizes are able to calculate the location of their middles in order to divide into two during mitosis. and now show that simple mechanical models accurately predict cleavage-plane positioning, and that geometrical interactions between neighboring cells are sufficient to generate ordered patterns of mitosis in growing epithelia.
