Abstract
Differential electrochemical mass spectrometry (DEMS) using a thin-layer flow-through electrochemical interface was used for simultaneous on-line studies of the dependence of mass spectra and Faradaic current on the electrode potential during electrocatalytic reduction of copper(II) ions by formaldehyde. The feasibility of the thin-layer flow-through DEMS cell for investigating electrode processes involving metal phase formation was demonstrated. The method permits to obtain the instantaneous values of partial reactions of the catalytic process.
