Abstract
Factor analysis has been carried out on simulated time domain NMR data representing polytetrafluoroethene (PTFE) of varying crystallinity to understand the relationship between the factors found for real PTFE time domain data and the underlying physical model of the time domain signal. Hierarchical cluster analysis was investigated as a method for identifying rogue samples; however, it was unable to differentiate between the effects of composition and small physically insignificant variations in time constants.
