Abstract
A new promising mimetic peroxidase, iron-tetrasulfonatophthalocyanine (FeTSPC), has been synthesized and applied to the determination of hydrogen peroxide based on its catalytic effect on the oxidation of p-hydroxyphenylpropionic acid (p-HPPA). Under optimum conditions, the calibration graph has a linear range of 0.0×10−6–3.6×10−6 mol/l hydrogen peroxide with a detection limit of 1.3×10−8 mol/l in a 30 min reaction period. Application of the system to the determination of glucose shows a linear range 0.0×10−6–6.0×10−6 mol/l and a detection limit of 3.1×10−8 mol/l. The feasibility of FeTSPC as a new mimetic peroxidase in practical clinical analysis has been proven in the determination of glucose in human serum.
