Abstract
Fatty acids and triacylglycerols from Argania tree seeds (argania oil) were identified. Common fatty acids and triacylglycerols were quantified using gas chromatography on a capillary column. A frequent adulteration of some kinds of argania oil was determined using statistical methods. Hierarchical cluster analysis clearly distinguished between oil directly isolated from seeds and bought in a pharmacy, and oil bought in the grocer’s shop.
