Abstract
Diluted magnetic semiconductor quantum wires of Zn1−x−yCdxMnySe were fabricated by the electron beam lithography and wet chemical etching techniques. Photoluminescence spectra for the quantum wires with different wire width indicate evident quantum confinement effect and linear polarization effect, which may imply the anisotrophic alignment of the exciton dipole moments in the quantum wires. Large Zeeman effect accompanied by a suppression of the nonradiative recombination procedure of the excitons were observed in a magnetic field.
