A novel, simple rotational state analyser/selector for polar linear molecules Original Research Article

The theoretical foundation of a novel rotational state analyser/selector is presented which consists of two coaxial tubes of different diameter. Simulations for NaCl and ICI beams, based on the exact force field, indicate state specific resolving power and large transmission. The device is also a promising candidate for a trap of neutral polar molecules.
