Access to ring-fused azepino[3,4-b]indole-1,5-dione derivatives by ring-closing olefin metathesis

The new ring-fused azepino[5,6-b]indole derivatives , and were prepared from diene precursors , , and in fair yields via a final ring-closing olefin metathesis.
