Abstract
We present a method of hydrodynamic analysis of a two-layer porous bearing of finite length and evaluate the influence of the ratio of the characteristic permeabilities of the layers on the basic characteristics of the bearing. It is established that, in comparison with the two-layer porous bearing of constant thickness, the layered bearing with variable thickness of the outer layer has twice the load capacity.
