Abstract
Scale prevention is the main work for equipment and formation protection from salt deposition during the production in the oil wells. Scale inhibitor selection or making new inhibitor as a chemical reagent for prevention of formation of salts depends on the salt type. The inhibitor for scale inhibition is considered for compatibility with formation water and core sample. Water is taken from productive formation and then combined with inhibitors for compatibility with formation water. Compatibility with core is evaluated for formation damage control after inhibitor injection into the core sample. In this work, the effective mechanisms for salt formation and methods of inhibitor injection are reviewed. The scale prevention is evaluated by the selected inhibitor composition. This could be done by studying its effects on demulsification processes (demulsifiers) and corrosion inhibitors. Scale inhibitor, demulsifiers and corrosion inhibitors have different efficiency changes considering their dosing rate in laboratory conditions.
