Raman and infrared spectra of Tm@C82 and Gd@C82 Original Research Article

Raman and infrared spectra of the three Tm@C82 isomers and of Gd@C82 were used to study the electronic state of endohedral fullerenes. It is shown that the determination of the electronic state is possible from the wave number of the metal cage Raman mode below 200 cm−1. Moreover a significant influence of the C82 cage structure on the internal vibrations of the three Tm@C82 isomers A, B and C was found.
