Abstract
The influence of films of differently prepared single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and Ti6Al4V alloy on human osteoblasts was investigated. We focused on a metabolic activity of human osteoblasts as well as on their spreading and adherence ability on tested substrates. It was found that the metabolic activity of osteoblasts cultured on SWCNTs films was decreased of about 15% independently on the SWCNTs preparation technique. This result is comparable with that of osteoblasts cultured on Ti6Al4V alloy. It indicates that SWCNTs films are not toxic for human osteoblasts and could be used for biomedical applications.
