Abstract
We have assembled data for Seyfert 2 galaxies which have polarized broad lines. In the 2–10keV band, we find heavily absorbed X-ray emission with an absorbing column density of about 1023 cm−2. The X-ray luminosity ranges from 1042 to 1043 erg s−1 in the 2 – 10 keV band. We conclude that all of our targets have obscured nuclei. Our results suggest a good correlation between X-ray observation and spectropolarimetry.
We also detect soft X-ray emission, and find that the flux ratio to the obscured hard component is about 10%, which is larger than those of Seyfert 2 galaxies for which existence of polarized broad lines have not been reported. We discuss the origin of the soft component.
