Abstract
Usefulness of the nontraditional concentration forcing for the kinetic investigations in heterogeneous catalysis is demonstrated using the computer simulation of dehydration of alcohols and deamination of amines. Examples of simulated experiments with restarted and pulsed reactant feeding are presented. It is shown how the time dependent reactant feed can be used for the detailed analysis of the kinetics of elementary steps and relations on the catalyst surface in both steady-state and nonstationary regimes. The right shape of concentration perturbation and the proper moment of its imposing are crucial for this purpose. Two examples of reactor output improvements over the optimum steady state are also described.
