Deflection of a metal strip between elements of an automatic line

The paper deals with an analysis of the elastic deflection of a metal strip under its own weight. The equations of deflection are presented followed by methods of solution. Finally, the solutions are discussed with reference to an area of application in industry — automatic feed-systems in a sheet metal forming line. However, the proposed approach may be used in all circumstances where the deflection of the metal strip is of concern.
