Abstract
Internal cracks originating from inclusions are one of the main forms of faults for a heavy forging. In order to improve forging quality, the mechanism of faults originating from inclusions have been studied, their forming processes and conditions being analyzed and the behavior of damage and recovery being investigated in the process of plastic deformation. It is shown that damage and recovery exist in the same process of plastic deformation, these being two aspects of fault variation. It is helpful to improve forging quality by controlling their forming conditions for a heavy forging. Methods of eliminating the cracks originating from inclusions are put forward and proven in the actual production process.
