Abstract
Necking and bursting are current defects that appear and limit the flange and tube hydroforming processes. The linear stability analysis has been extended to 3D stress states in order to detect these defects during hydroforming processes. Numerical predictions are compared with experiments to illustrate the validity of the approach. In addition, the influence of material and process parameters on the bursting predictions are studied to show the ability of the approach to take into account these parameters directly from numerical results.
