Abstract
As an advanced technology of sheet metal forming, hydromechanical deep drawing (HDD) is being used increasingly in the sheet metal forming of common materials like aluminum, copper and steel. For superalloys widely applied in aviation and spaceflight, study is deficient at present. In this paper, the forming conditions of cylindrical cups of superalloy were investigated. The effects of process parameters on cylindrical cups of superalloy are discussed. Based on the experiments, a working curve, which guarantees a sound superalloy workpiece, was founded by series of experimental results. Thickness variation and fracture are discussed.
