Abstract
In order to produce the Bulk metallic glass (BMG) strips, the amorphous powder canned with copper was rolled at temperatures in the supercooled liquid region. The strain state during rolling was investigated by microstructure observations and finite element method (FEM) simulations. The BMG sample rolled without out copper can displayed the formation of cracks during warm rolling. The inner BMG sheet covered with the outer copper displays a uniform strain state with nearly zero View the MathML source, which leads to the homogeneous deformation of the BMG sheet during warm rolling.
