Abstract
Kaolinite usually exhibits a weak second exothermic peak at ∼1250 °C during differential thermal analysis (DTA) due to mullitization. But preliminary study indicates that significant thermal effects occur in the high temperature region when preheated kaolinite is packed by pressing instead of using raw kaolinite and is commonly packed by loose packing technique. A newer decomposition scheme of kaolinite is envisaged.
