Ultracold three-body collisions and the role of the Efimov effect Original Research Article

We present a brief overview of our recent work to understand the near-threshold behavior of ultracold three-body collisions. In particular, we have used the adiabatic hyperspherical representation of the problem to group all cases into two classes that can then be treated by relatively simple methods. In this manner we are able to derive the scattering length, energy, and mass scaling of all ultracold processes for all combinations of identical particles.
