Abstract
This paper describes the preparation of polyurethane–polystyrene interpenetrating polymer networks (PU/PS IPNs) using bis-(3-allyloxy-2-propanol)diphenylolpropane (BAPD) as a crosslinking agent. BAPD contains multiple hydroxyl and vinyl groups which can undergo crosslinking reactions during the preparation of the IPNs. The crosslinking process involves independent condensation and free radical polymerization of the polymer system.
