Abstract
In this work, we use the reanalysis method to model the damage of composite materials. Thanks to the use of kinematic and mixed conditions, this method allows us to simultaneously model the variation of boundary conditions and the stiffness variation, induced by the evolution of the structureʹs damage. This enables us after addition of an evolution law and an adequate failure criterion to build a damage model. We present the simulation of a damage and its evolution in a traction test of a resin/glass specimen. For simplicity reasons, the suggested model is applicable to unidirectional composites, which are the basis for stratified materials. The extension to the stratified plates does not add any numerical difficulty.
