Abstract
This paper presents a higher order spatial discretization concept for multiphase durability-oriented structural analysis. The proposed concept uses hierarchically organized Legendre-polynomials allowing to choose the polynomial order of the field variables fieldwise and spatially anisotropic. Approximation requirements of the participating field variables and of the geometrical configuration can be accounted for while accommodating aspects of computational efficiency. To demonstrate the suitability of the higher order discretization concept for structural multifield durability analyses, a hygromechanical elastoplastic damage model for concrete is employed and applied to the durability-oriented analysis of a concrete shell subjected to mechanical and hygral loading.
