Abstract
We model a single-plate thermoacoustic system under the action of a transverse magnetic force. Simplified momentum and energy equations are solved, in the frequency domain, in order to obtain the expressions of the fluctuating velocity (u1) and temperature (T1). Time averaged and space averaged heat fluxes and work fluxes are calculated. The effects of the drive ratio (DR), Hartmann number (Haδ), temperature gradient (∇Tm), and frequency (f) on the heat flux, work flux, and operating conditions are discussed and graphically presented.
