Abstract
Polycrystalline powder sample of NaSr4(BO3)3 synthesized by modified solution combustion synthesis method. The prepared sample was characterized through XRD, TGA–DTA, FTIR and SEM. The thermoluminescence and some of the dosimetric characteristics of Tb3+ activated NaSr4(BO3)3 under the X-ray irradiation were reported. The TL glow curve consists of two well separated glow peaks at 185 °C and 318 °C. The optimum concentration is 0.005 mol to obtain the highest intensity approximately comparable to commercial TLD-100. TL kinetic parameters of NaSr4(BO3)3:Tb3+ were deduced by the peak shape method. TL dose response is linear in the range of measurement. Also photoluminescence spectra of NaSr4(BO3)3:Tb3+ shows characteristic green emission when excited with 236 nm UV source.
