Abstract
Elimination of static charges in large mass flows of bulk material was achieved by VALITEC. The related technology uses supersonic injection of tiny charged ice aerosols produced by condensation of water vapor around corona ions generated at the throat of a supersonic nozzle. In the plants where this method was applied to polyethylene pellets production, the quality was greatly improved and the operational cost substantially reduced. These results were greatly appreciated by the customers, which indicates that a new market can emerge from this work.
