Abstract
The piezoelectric property of PVDF cables is attributed to the structure of PVDF, i.e. its β phase content. The aim of this research was to optimize the processing steps (e.g. electroding, coating) to maximize the β phase content in PVDF cables manufactured by the technology developed in the Wrocław Division of the Electrotechnical Institute (IEL). Microstructure examinations were carried out on samples drawn at random from both semi-finished and final products. The XRD examinations made it possible to assess the effect of texture orientation, temperature and speed of processing operations on the β phase content in the PVDF.
