Electrohydrodynamic instability of droplets as an influencing factor for aerosol space charge generation

The behavior of charged droplets in the external zone of electrostatic sprayer is under great influence of different parameters which determine the generation and evolution of space charge in aerosol jet. In this article, the influence of the electrohydrodynamic (EHD) disintegration of charged droplets on aerosol space charge generation is discussed. It is proposed that the EHD disintegration of evaporated charged droplets leads to the generation of a zone with high space charge volume density in the outlet of electrostatic sprayer.
