Abstract
The air-jet diffused into a ventilated enclosure controls the air distribution, thermal comfort, and air contamination affected by the air-jet trajectory. A two-step model was developed to predict the air-jet trajectory discharged from a ceiling slot inlet in a non-isothermal ventilated enclosure. The results suggest that the model, integrated with previously published models of a plane wall jet and of a plane jet initiated from the profiles of velocity and temperature, can be used to predict the air-jet trajectory under consideration. The predicted model is validated by comparisons of experimental centreline velocities of the air-jet, photos of airflow pattern, and contours of velocity and temperature.
