Abstract
Kinetics of oxidation and disappearance of graphite in MgO–C refractory bricks have been investigated in the temperature range from 1000 to 1200 °C, where graphite is mainly consumed by gaseous oxygen in air. A mathematical model, including kinetic parameters, has been proposed to explain the extent of oxidation with time.
