Abstract
This is a call to recognise community media as a vital and indispensable element of the media system in society. The text is an edited version of the keynote address delivered by the author during the AMARC Europe Conference “Supporting Positive Change in Europe through the Expansion of Community Radio” in Bucharest, December 12–14, 2008.
