Abstract
Reaction of the carbene precursor 1 and Ag2O yields the Ag(I) metal crown ether 2a. Carbene transmetalation reaction of 2a with CuI gives Cu(I) analogue 2b. The structures of 2a and 2b are determined by X-ray crystallography.
