Abstract
The bis(phosphine), Ph2PN(CH3)CH2CH2N(CH3)PPh2 reacts with Group 6 metal carbonyl derivatives, [ReBr(CO)3(NCMe)2] and [MCl2(COD)] (M=Pd or Pt) to give the corresponding seven-membered chelate complexes. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopic data. The structure of the rhenium complex, [ReBr(CO)3{Ph2PN(CH3)CH2CH2(CH3)NPPh2}] has been confirmed by X-ray crystallography.
