A STUDY OF THE LIMIT CYCLES ASSOCIATED WITH A GENERALIZED CODIMENSION-3 LIENARD OSCILLATOR

In this paper Melnikov and Petrov methods are used to study the limit cycles associated with the degenerate bifurcations of a representative, generalized codimension-3 Lienard oscillator. It is shown that the coexistence of multiple limit cycles is possible and that jumping phenomena exist between limit cycles. Moreover, it is found that the stable limit cycles (oscillations) and the unstable limit cycles (oscillations) can occur alternatively.
