Abstract
In this article a study is made of a series of briquettes made from forest or industrial waste, some types of which have not to date been used in briquettes. They are evaluated from both an energy and economic viewpoint.
ellulosic densification improves the briquettes’ behavior as a fuel by increasing the homogeneity and by being easier to transport and manage. Lignocellulosic binderless briquettes’ characteristic net heating value (LHV) and remaining amount of fuel during combustion (Weight) have been investigated to obtain a general expression function of production and raw material factors. In both cases the main factor is the fixed carbon in a quadratic way as all the factors are easily measurable.
