Abstract
The mechanism of cellular differentiation and consequent pattern formation in the developmental stages of growing embryo has been investigated with the help of a reaction-diffusion model in curvilinear space coordinates namely, cylindrical coordinates. Model analysis have been performed into two phases. In the first phase, it has been observed that the bifurcating lines in the parametric space have no resonance point. In the second phase of the study, it has been observed that the introduction of the predetermined gradient of certain known gene products (biologically a more realistic phenomena) on the reaction kinetics dramatically effects the behaviour of the system by changing the lines of bifurcation from its original position in the parametric space.
