  • Abstract
    The IR and XPS characterization as well as the determination of contact angles and refractive indices of polystyrene (PS) and styrene–butadiene–styrene block copolymer (SBS) films treated with perfluorodibutyroyl peroxide (n-C3F7CO2)2 in CClF2CCl2F solutions at room temperature indicate that the electron transfer reactions leading to radical ring-perfluoropropylation of PS and perfluoropropylation-perfluorobutyloxylation of the CC double bonds in SBS have induced properties like high transparency, water repellency, oil repellency, chemical resistance and much lowered refractive indices of the modified films.
