Investigation of inclusion complex of miconazole nitrate with β-cyclodextrin

Inclusion complex of miconazole nitrate with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) was prepared by the coprecipitation method. The stability constant Kf and ratio of inclusion complex, as well as the thermodynamic parameters of inclusion reaction were determined by phase solubility method. The inclusion complex was characterized by IR spectra, DSC and X-ray diffraction. It was testified that the inclusion complex was formed between β-CD and miconazole nitrate and found that the benzene ring of miconazole nitrate entered into the cavity of β-CD, meanwhile leaving the N-ring outside.
