Abstract
In this study, a new method of synthesized in situ fibers in cementitious materials is introduced. The fiber can be synthesized by chemical process in cementitious materials, and this new type of fiber-enhanced cementitious material demonstrates distinctive performances in comparison with traditional fiber reinforced cementitious materials. Experimental results show that the synthesized in situ fiber reinforced cementitious composite has excellent fracture toughness and exhibits a distinctive ductile behavior. On the basis of this preliminary study the application potential of this new type of fiber reinforced cementitious material, produced by means of synthesizing in situ of fiber, is highlighted.
