Abstract
In tropical regions, high temperature variations are the basic characteristic. In order to apply Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) mixtures for hot summers and high temperature in tropical regions, three types fiber SMA mixtures (lignin, basalt and polyester) are selected and used for the Marshall stability test and the Rutting test at 60, 65, 70 and 75 °C to study the influence of abnormally high temperatures on the Marshall stability and the Dynamic stability of SMA mixtures. The results showed that, the Dynamic stability and the Marshall stability of three type fiber SMA mixtures all decreased with increasing temperature; in contrast, the high temperature stability of basalt fiber SMA mixture is the best.
