Abstract
The NO–H2 reaction over Pd(111) was studied at NO pressures in the 1×10−7 mbar pressure regime and at temperatures between 300 and 750 K. The H2/NO ratio was varied from 1 to 54. Hysteresis phenomena in the rate of NH3 and H2O formation were observed in a heating–cooling cycle and can be attributed to atomic hydrogen absorbed in the bulk.
