Abstract
The thermal decrosslinking behavior of an acrylic polypropylene oxide polymer network was studied in the presence of various basic and non-basic species. The study determined that the basic species facilitated the decrosslinking of the polymer network, whereas the non-basic species showed no discernable decrosslinking behavior. This study also determined that the decrosslinking temperature of this polymer system could be controlled by the specific properties of the basic severing species. These systems have uses as reworkable adhesives that allow recycling of any components held together by the polymer material.
