Abstract
The process experimentally measuring the interfacial tension of polymers was simulated by means of dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) simulation method in the present study. It is a retraction of ellipsoid drop of a polymer within the other polymer bulk. Effect of the initial geometry of the ellipsoid on the finally obtained interfacial tension was focused, since it was found the ellipsoid might not have the same length for both short axes, which is against original assumption. Simulated results show that different initial short axes of b and c do influence eventual measurement of the tension. However, a smaller deviation between b and c was found to be leading to an acceptable measurement. For this judgment, we found a criterion is γ = ( b − c ) / a < 0.3 .
