The Accuracy of Water Level Measurements in Steam Generators at Nuclear Power Stations

Questions of measuring the water level in steam generators at nuclear power stations by means of small-base hydrostatic level gages are considered. It is shown that the standard level gages of steam generators are suited for use in a nonboiling liquid. This leads to a significant error in measuring the water level at working loads. A scale for a small-base water-level gage suited for various loads on the steam generator was calculated, and a pattern for calibrating such a scale was proposed.
