Abstract
We study regimes of quantum degeneracy of electrons and holes in a two-dimensional spatially separated electron–hole system in a strong magnetic field. The phase transition from the excitonic dielectric liquid phase to the crystalline state of electrons and holes is predicted with the increase in interwell separation and damping rate. We show that the Bose–Einstein condensate of magnetoexcitons with large dipole moments and low damping rates is more preferable state compared to the metallic liquid phase of electron–hole pairs and the double charge-density wave state of electrons and holes.
