Quantum control for arbitrary linear and quadratic potentials

We describe a theoretical framework capable of calculating optimal control fields for systems with arbitrary linear and quadratic potentials governing the nuclear degrees of freedom. Application of this method to various test cases demonstrates that quadratic coupling (between the nuclear and electronic degrees of freedom) can lead to large changes relative to models with only linear coupling.
