Attack angle dependence of the Na+HF → NaF+H reaction at J=0

This Letter reports a quantum theoretical study of the attack angle dependence of the title reaction. Three approaches were used: the stereodirected representation, the preferred attack angle method, and the exam of attack angle distributions leading to minimal- or maximal-probability reactions. The comparison between the results obtained with the three methods allowed for an assessment of their advantages and disavantages. The reaction probability was found to be strongly dependent on the attack angle.
