The perturbation representation for molecular inelastic scattering

We develop a simple transformation that removes much of the coupling between states in the coupled Schrِdinger equations for inelastic scattering. In the sudden limit, the method becomes identical to the infinite-order sudden approximation and the discrete-variable representation, and therefore the approximation is a generalization of these methods to the case where there is a finite energy spacing between states.
