Abstract
The removal constants at room temperature of the vibrational levels v2″=0 and v2″=1 of the bending mode of PH2(X̃ 2B1) due to interactions with NO have been measured and are (5.47±0.54)×10−14 and (6.68±1.57)×10−12 cm3 molec.−1 s−1, respectively. The large difference between the two constants have been ascribed mostly to the enhancement of the reaction rate of PH2+NO due to the vibrational excitation of PH2. A qualitative energy potential profile has been proposed for the reaction.
